SPECTRUM OF
ACTIVITIES DURING ACADEMIC YEAR
2005-06 Independence
Day was jointly celebrated with the students of the 'Sankalp', an
school run for special children under the aegis of NWWA(WR
Prefectorial
Council was selected after rigourous screening and interviews by panel
in Aug 05. The ceremony was held at MN Mulla Auditorium,where students were
formally invested with their duties by RAdm Anup Singh, Chief of Staff,
Headquarters Western Naval Command. The outstanding performers in the Board
Examinations 2004-05 were also falicitated on this
occasion. Inter House
Co-curricular Activities such as patriotic song, best out of waste, gift
wrapping, English & Hindi Essay writing, Calligraphy, Debates and Dumb
Charades were organised with an aim of participation by all the
children.
Hindi Pakhwara
was celebrated from 13 - 17 Sep 05. Essay writing competition for children from
Std VI to XII were held. Teachers partcipated in a debate
competition. Teachers'
Day was celebrated by honouring the teachers along with cultural show
organised by students for teachers. The PTA presented gifts to the staff for
their self less devotion. The Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval
Command hosted lunch at IMSC on the occasion. Medical
Examination was conducted by Station Health Organisation(SHO) at a nomonal
fee. It included the dental checkup. Langar on
Childrens' Day where all the students of the school sat under one roof and
shared their food. The students from 'Sankalp' were also
invited. Annual Day
Two shows were put up in the month of Nov 05 showcasing the talent in the
school. The Chief Guest for the Annual Day of Primary Section was RAdm Anup
Singh. Smt Nani Singh gave away the prizes. The second show was presented by the
students of Secondary Section. V Adm Madanjit Singh, the Flag Officer
Commanding-in-Chief graced the function as Chief
Guest.
School
Picnics were organised to Film City, Goregaon; Arrey Milk Factory as well as
Parle G Buiscuit factory. The children of XII std had picnic cum industrial tour
to small scale indutries at Alibaugh. Firefighting
cum Adventure Demonstration. The Naval Dockyard(MB) along with Fire Brigade
Deptt. organised fire fighting demonstration as well as adventure activities viz
rappling, river crossing and jummaring in front of the children of the school.
Display of the tools used during the Himalayan trekking was also a big
attraction. Children from the school themselves participated in the activities,
assisted by the trainers from the Naval
Dockyard(MB). First Aid
Demonstration. The team from School of Medical Assistants (SOMA) gave an
interesting demonstration of first aids to the students of std
VIII. AIDS Awareness
Programme. Students of XI std participated in Aids Awareness Programme
organised by SHO (MB). Career
Counselling Seminars. Three seminars were organised for the students as well
as parents of Stds X -XII. EXTRACURRICULAR / CO-CURRICULAR
ACTIVITIES Inter School Debate
Competition. was organised in Army School, Mumbai on 21 Aug 05. Aarti Nair,
Vipul Ruperee and Sanchit Karve made us proud by winning the first
prize. National
Talent Science Examination. The school encouraged students to participate in
NTSE. Prashant Harge has been selected at the National level and Sarthak Patel
at the State level. Participation
in Olympiads. Children participated in two Olympiads. Srinidhi Bheesette of
Std IX was the winner in Science Olympiad. Twelve students secured ranking among
first 500 in the fifth National Cyber Olympiad. Tejas Yadav from Std XII
qualified National Olympiad (Biology) at the State
Level. Participation
in Tree Plantation Drive. Eighty children participated in the activity
organised by the NWWA (WR).
NWWA Quiz.
for the young masterminds was held in Mulla Auditorium. School team comprising
of Aarti, Deepak and Apoorva bagged 2nd
position. POGO Amazing
Kids Award. Dilip Nalla of VIII Std was nominated for the award. School
children participated as audience in the Award ceremony held at
NCPA. Mattel Nation
School Scrabble Championship. Aarti, Deepak, Chaitanya, Apoorva and Sajjad
have been selected for the championship to participate in the Mumbai Zonal
Competition. Design a Stamp
Competition. Children participated in the 'Design the stamp' as well
as 'letter writing competition', organised by GPO,
Mumbai. Peace
Train. Akhilesh Malse and Pankaj Sonkhla participated in the 'peace train'
from Mumbai to New Delhi, organised by NIE. Tiger
Project. included visit to Raj Bhavan.
Painting &
Collage Competition. Five students from VII std participated in the
competition organised by Army Postal
Organisation.
Painting
Competition by MP Green Productivity Association. Devang Singh Saxena won
consolation prize of Rs 500/- in the National Painting
Competition. Graded
Examination in Spoken English. Twenty one students of IX Std have appearded
in the examination conducted by Trinity College,
London. Essay Writing
Competition by JNV, Delhi. The students of stds IX & XI
participated. Water
Conservation Exhibition. Civic Awareness Club of the school
participated and won 1st prize for the best
stall. Camlin Colour
Contest. Students partcipated in the
competition.
